We gather information on an interactive basis and perform all of the documentation in real time. In this manner, we make sure the client is complying with all the steps, and it also avoids any misunderstandings. We prepare a tax return, run it through a series of internal reviews, and then make the submission to the BOE.

The same methodical practices are also required when obtaining exemptions for common carrier clients, an especially important service since most air carrier executives and flight department managers initially rely upon the false belief that “Part 135″ will obviate the need to deal with the California BOE. While Part 135 is referenced in federal regulations, it is not mentioned in the California code. Instead, California Regulations 6366 and 6366.1 pertain to aircraft sold or leased to common carriers. These sections do offer legal exemptions. However, the law requires the longest test period (12 months), during which time extremely detailed documentation must be maintained: log books, flight plans, weight and moment sheets, customer revenue billings, a complete copy of engine maintenance logs showing total hours since date of purchase, and more. Every single flight is examined, and one mistake can trigger the entire tax. It takes precise guidance from an expert to guarantee compliance and avoid the sales tax.

Honeywell Launches New Suite of Services to Help Business Jet Operators Manage Modern In-Cabin Experience

GoDirect Cabin Connectivity mobile apps help operators save time and money by streamlining management to a single service provider

Honeywell unveiled GoDirect Cabin Connectivity, a suite of services and mobile applications that helps business jet owners and operators more easily manage and control their satellite communications services and usage. By providing operators with the tools needed to manage an aircraft’s connectivity network via an online portal or mobile device, Honeywell has limited the need for third-party services support and put operators in control of network troubleshooting, access, data consumption, billing and more.

The proliferation of mobile devices, software as a service, and increased productivity and comfort demands from passengers has changed the business aviation landscape. Reliable, high-speed connectivity is a growing expenditure for aircraft operators, yet it’s become mandatory for them to provide fast and consistent inflight coverage — while still managing overall cost of ownership. Honeywell’s new GoDirect Cabin Connectivity makes this easy by allowing operators to more effectively manage cabin connectivity services. The services give operators flexibility with and visibility into their current wireless services to make troubleshooting, networking and onboard data management an easy process that can save time and money.

“Expectations of fast and consistent connections are second nature in the minds of passengers. These mobile applications help operators monitor and maintain network health, diagnose connection issues and troubleshoot potential solutions for an aircraft’s satellite communications and router hardware. The applications are a source of valuable network information, such as important configuration data, and can walk operators through the troubleshooting process with email support or visual cues directly on a mobile device.
• Honeywell’s GoDirect Routing Software. This is Honeywell’s most advanced routing software. It manages an aircraft’s available data links and integrates with existing cabin management, entertainment and wireless systems to provide a more cohesive cabin experience. By automatically managing connections between available channels — 3G and 4G LTE, to L-band, to SwiftBroadband, to Ku-band, to Ka-band and back — operators can provide passengers with an uninterrupted level of service that best meets their connectivity needs.
• Honeywell GoDirect Portal and GoDirect Access. These are web-based services that integrate with Honeywell’s apps to broaden an operator’s level of control of the cabin, providing visibility into the data consumption of each aircraft in the fleet while employing advanced forecasting tools to understand how passenger and crew behavior affects connectivity cost and budgeting. Operators can now manage passenger access and billing methods, including credit card purchases, voucher cards and per-leg billing, to meet the connection and cost requirements of each flight.
• GoDirect Filter offers the best of both worlds as a service and software. GoDirect Filter gives operators the ability to streamline and prioritize in-flight data use to improve speeds and manage a better experience for passengers.

I have personally worked in the aviation industry for almost 20 years, across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, including aircraft restoration & detailing as well being a qualified helicopter pilot. We established Diamond Jet Detailing in the UAE in 2013 and after about a year we identified a critical need to source a high performing paint protection product due to the harsh climate that we operate in. Over a period of around 15 months I personally tested 4 aviation-approved products (including yours) of this nature, all of which claimed numerous benefits. After a satisfactory test period it was apparent to me that your product outperformed all the other products by every measure and this is when (approximately 18 months ago) we started to work with ToughGuard paint protection for our client's aircraft. Since that day we have applied ToughGuard to around 30 clients aircraft, ranging from VVIP Helicopters, mid-sized fixed-wing aircraft from Bombardier, Embraer and GulfStream, all the way up to super-large private aircraft such as Boeing 737's and 757's.

We have received excellent feedback from our clients, including, "the paint work looks new again", "the product has reduced our wash frequency cycle", "the feel of the aircraft's paint work is smooth like enamel", and my personal favorite (being a pilot), "we just look for rain clouds and fly through them when we come in to land and the aircraft looks like it has been washed by the time we pull up to the ramp". After almost 18 months the first few aircraft that we applied ToughGuard to are still holding up well and I fully expect that our clients will see a good 2 to 3 years life out of each application that will assist in extending the overall paintlife of the aircraft.
